Leave That Thing Alone

The inking of the Braids of the Gorgon pages is going well. I'm trying to find a good balance of loose and tight inking. I think I could get a little looser but it's difficult for me to leave things alone, sometimes. Anyway, here's that panel I showed in a previous post, this time in its inked form.

You're right is saying that's a "mix", it is indeed! I don't even have as trained an eye as an artist, but looking at that image - inital reaction: tight inks, on closer inspection: no, no, you kept a lot of it loose, freer than I thought...final judgment: what a hodgepodge! I actually kind of dig it, because it is such a mix and unlike most ink jobs in that respect. If you can make the balance work for you...hmmm...I'd almost suggest it as a stylistic point of distinction. --Dave B.
